Aug 16: Pinocchio, the Adventures of a Marionette

PINOCCHIO, the Adventures of a Marionette (PDF ebook)

One of the best page-turning, cliff-hanging "classics" you'll ever read to your children, this is the original classic story by Carl Collodi of the mischievous puppet who wanted to be a real boy.  This is a high energy, rollicking, often scary, but always fun tale – a far cry from the Disney-fied version. Each chapter ends pretty much on a cliff-hanger, so once you start this, your kids won't let you stop! Loads of illustrations too. Give it a try and let us know what the kids think of THIS Pinocchio!

Aug 9: Making a Shield & Buckler – out of Duct Tape!

Making a Shield & Buckler – out of Duct Tape! (PDF ebook)

The Ericksons are a homeschooling family with 3 children. They are also avid followers of our website, and contacted us about this cool new resource they just created.  After reading about ancient world history, sons Mark and Steven became fascinated by historic weapons and warfare.  They decided to make their own shields, swords and other weapons so that they could act out the history about which they had learned.  Mark and Steven had so much fun fighting wars and sieging fortresses with crushing defeats and heroic victories with their friends, they wanted to write down the instructions and patterns for the weapons and armor so that other kids could battle and act out history, too.  Julia had a booth at the GHEA conference in May selling her jewelry so the boys joined in the fun and sold duct tape weapons and e-books.  The duct tape weapons and e-books were such a big hit that the boys decided to go "big-time" with a website.  Warfare by Duct Tape was born!

Today we have an exclusive free copy of their ebook MAKING A SHIELD & BUCKLER for you, and also the Ericksons are offering their full WARFARE BY DUCT TAPE manual exclusively to our readers at a big discount. Check it out, and support a fellow homeschooling family if you like the freebie. You know your young warriors will eat this up!

You've heard it said that time is one of your most precious commodities – and it is oh, so true. Time is the one thing you get a limited amount of, and when that amount is exhausted, you can’t get it back. You can't go back to relive a moment in time, and you cannot jump forward in time. All you have is right now, and if you are not using the time you have to live your best, most effective life, you probably feel stressed and unbalanced. Perhaps you consistently carry a heavy workload (homeschooling, homemaking, volunteering, business, church, etc. ) and want to find ways to become more efficient so you can get more done in less time. Or maybe you simply yearn for a more peaceful existence instead of rushing madly from one activity to the next until you fall into bed exhausted every night.
