April 30: Children’s History Book Story Records

on April 30, 2010

Children's History Book Story Records (streaming audios) – Here's a neat page from The Reading Well which contains links to over 30 streaming children's record audio dramatizations & readings which are based on classic children's books.  These sound like they were produced to interest young readers in the books, or perhaps to accompany filmstrips. Anyway, they are very well done and quite enjoyable. The majority of the audios on this page are of "Great Events in American History", and run anywhere from 2 – 20 minutes each. Titles include: The Voyage of Columbus, Paul Revere and the Minute Men, Our Independence & the Constitution,  The Panama Canal, Thomas Alva Edison, and many more. There are also a few fairy tale & Bible story audios on this page as well.

Note: Be aware that these audio files are NOT downloadable… they are streaming audios, playable if you have Flash enabled on your system. When you go to the site, we suggest you bookmark the link so you can re-visit the site any time at your convenience, even after our link here expires.
