THE CRASH COURSE by Chris Martenson

Well, today and tomorrow’s resources are a bit of a departure for us, but these both are very timely and immensely helpful to families and teens alike. If all the economic news just leaves your head spinning and wondering “What happened?” this is for you. If you want to understand what is going on with our economy today in the shortest possible time, take time to watch and absorb the information in this free online course.

Chris Martenson’s The Crash Course provides a baseline understanding of the economy so that you can better appreciate the risks that we all face. He explains the complex interrelated issues of the economy, energy and the environment in an easy to understand format. Along the way are lessons on the origins and nature of money, and many other economic concepts, which are well presented and perfect for students. There are 20 chapters in the course, and each is between 3 and 20 minutes in length each, so you can watch them a bite at a time, at your convenience.

Thank you so much for all the work you do for this site!  God bless your  family!

I've appreciated the work you do on your site for a couple of years now. I do have to say that I find this current offering to be disturbing at best.
Primarily the statement of "current – and coming economic woes" is extremely disheartening.  So much of economic turmoil depends on the emotions of people and this offering is one more way to feed into the fear that the media is so good at forcing down our throats.

  9. JimE says:

    Hi Laura,

Well, it IS meant to be disturbing, and it IS going to get worse. We rarely reference anything outside of the homeschooling world here, but it is not a bad thing to educate yourself and your family about what is happening in the world around us. Things are not good on many fronts, and “the media” is not a good place to find answers. A word to the wise is sufficient.

  10. Laura says:

Thanks for what you've done. I'll respectfully withdraw my subscription from your site. We choose to live our lives with hope and positivity and being fearful and sure of "worse" is completely opposed to our way of thinking.
Your choice of ignoring job growth and economic indicators makes it clear that you buy into tabloid, sensationalistic "media".

The Chris Martenson website is one the best resources that I have found!  I watched the Crash Course 2 years ago, and I appreciate the factual, scientific approach that is taken to explain economic history.  Most of the forum's members are extremely helpful and positve… I especially like the permaculture/gardening.  Such a refreshing change from mainstream media and negativity, I have hope and reassurance that I can weather the ups and downs.  Thanks Chris!
