Great video..thanks for sharing. Too bad Easter is becoming so commercial…at least not as much as Christmas, yet. Have a Blessed Easter. The Lord is risen!…He is risen indeed!

  2. Lisa Says:

Love the video!! Easter really is about Jesus!! What more can we say?

  3. Delores Says:

    That was fantastic!

  4. Dena Says:

This year is the first year that the whole easter bunny and egg thing has bothered me. I have to admit we went a head and did the egg dying and easter bunny baskets but i have wondered why as Christians we resort to such junk when this is the most amazing event in history. Surely we can find better ways to spend this holiday. I loved your video and put it on my blog.

  5. Ruth Says:

Great video, it really shows the commercial side of it. But Easter has nothing to do with Jesus anyway and everything to do with Pagan origins that have been cleverly worked in by Satan. Easter has nothing to do with the scarifice of Jesus our Lord, but only the Goddess Astara. There can be no fellowship between light and dark. We should not celebrate ‘Easter’ in any shape or form but remember instead the sacrifice our Lord gave for us.

  6. ML in Chicagoland Says:

What a productive way to spend time in a store! Thank you for using your creativity for His glory. We serve a RISEN Savior!

  7. Christine Hebert Says:

Many of the “signs” of Easter are new life symbols. What is the Resurrection, if not new life? On Easter we are not celebrating the crucifixion, but rather the Resurrection. Christ’s sacrifice means nothing without it. The miracle of Easter is the empty tomb. We enjoy the chocolate bunnnies and dyed eggs while remembering that this day is about Jesus. My daughter made a card for my parents that highlighted the consumerism of the day and made the point that the day is about Jesus. She is twelve.
Christ is Risen, He is risen indeed, Alleluia, Alleluia!

Loved this video. Thanks for sharing.

  9. Bonni Says:

Thank you so much. I can’t wait to share it with my children.

  10. Teresa Says:

Enjoyed the video. While it made my boys and me smile, it sadly reflects the downfall of our culture. Don’t you know G-d’s heart is grieved as He sees His sacrifice brushed aside to honor bunnies, chocolate and other such nonsense.

Resurrection Day isn’t an event. It’s a lifestyle. Many are called, few choose His way.

    He is Risen indeed!

I agree that the Holy day has been made much too commercial. I do appriciate that Walmart is carrying the chocolate crosses and stuffed sheep. It’s hard to find ANYTHING for an Easter basket that even reflects a Christian theme.

  12. Kara Says:

Superb. What a great use of your time at Wal-Mart.

  13. Donna Says:

Wow! Simple and thought provoking for non-Christians and a reminder to slow down for Christians. Thanks for sharing your talents.

  14. Meredith Curtis Says:

This was great! I posted it on my facebook account, so that more people can enjoy it! Creative with a punch! Can’t wait to see more! Blessings!

  15. Ruth Says:

The web-page won’t load the video on my computer. Is there another link I can use to access it?
    Thanks, Ruth

    Ruth,

If you are having problems with this embedded version I suspect you won’t be able to view it on youtube either, but you might wish to search for it there.

  17. Lydia H. Says:

That is too good! What is the real meaning of Easter? I like to think of the day as Resurrection Sunday. Thanks for posting this.
We do not celebrate Easter as a family.. We remember what Jesus did – giving us eternal life by rising from the dead! He is Risen!!

  18. Lisa Says:

    YUP!

  19. Kelley Says:

Thanks for your video. A great follow up to a great day!
The days are upon us that we must unite in our love of the Lord to stand up & be counted. This kind of commercialism will continue to grow & try to snuff out truth everywhere. But we will prevail. Keep the faith, He Lives!

  20. Thomas H. Says:

You should get stuck in Wally World more often! Thanks for sharing…

  21. ValerieC. -Louisville, KY Says:

WOW, maybe someone should send this to TREE 63 the group that sings the song in the video.

    AWESOME VIDEO!

    Thanks for sharing!

  22. Kim Matlock Says:

I loved it. Thanks so much.

  23. LR Says:

    Fantastic video.

  24. Dineen Says:

What a great youtube find, Jim! My husband and I have been lamenting the commercialism of Easter these past few days and have pondering just how we want to celebrate it as a family. This video is a lovely complement to the Lenten tree activities posted earlier.

  25. Sara Says:

Ruth (comment #5) is right on! I'm ashamed to admit that I've let the Pagen slip into our family…with the eggs (fertility goddess) and bunnies (also fertility – whether chocolate or not) and the chicks and spring flowers.
How happy is makes the evil one when the "Christians" do whatever they can to compromise, taint and distract from the Sacrifice…
It's time to clean house. Thanks for the very powerful reminder!

  26. None Says:

I guess the question to ask is: Why would you expect to see the true meaning of Easter at Wal-mart? Isn't it a very secular store with very secular values, specifically designed to promote materialism? Aren't they there to make people feel good and spend more money?

  27. Andrea Says:

Agreeing with Ruth (#5) and Sara (#25) That is the reason our family will never have anything to do with any formerly pagan belief that has been turned into a part of almost all holidays. With the world accepting these things as normal and ok it leaves no place for Chirst followers to be "no part of this world."

  28. Kayla Fay @ Middle School Science Projects Says:

Love it! And remember, the point of His coming was to redeem. Even if "Easter" does have its roots in paganism, Christ's resurrection is powerful enough to redeem it!
Even in Wal-Mart, Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!

  29. Elizabeth Says:

I was so disapointed in Walmart this year. They used to carry "The Beginners Bible" items for Easter. We found nothing worth using to celebrate Easter or to read or decorate this year regarding what Easter really means. We ended up buying foam crosses and foam glue and making our own Thank You cards to God and Jesus!. Which was better than anything we we could have purchased.
    Cute video.

  30. Laura Says:

I loved the creativiity. Thanks for sharing!

  31. Sally Says:

Wow, great video.  We are trying something new this year never have done Easter Baskets but this year we are doing a Resurection basket.  I bought a white cross, a candy egg filled with cross candies and a Crayola wonder kit the model magic and we are going to make a lamb because Jesus is the Lamb of God.  Not sure if this will be kept up or not.  Son knows that Easter is not about the candy the easter bunny ect but wanted to help remind what it is about.
