Home School Radio Shows: The Kindle ebook!

HOMESCHOOL RADIO SHOWS: How and Why You Should be Using Old Time Radio Programs in YOUR Homeschool! by Jim Erskine (kindle ebook)

Old Time Radio programs are wonderful, family-friendly entertainment. And, as many of our long time readers already know, they are also a great way to enhance your homeschooling as well. Even better: These classic programs can teach your kids some things that TV, movies and video games cannot: How to be a better listener, and how to use their own imagination.

This concise, practical manual explains why listening to these classic programs can dramatically improve your children’s listening skills, and how they develop a child’s own creativity and imagination. It then gives you practical, proven ideas on how to easily incorporate old time radio programs into your kids’ homeschooling – making history and literature “come to life” in an exciting new way.

Also included with this kindle book are FIVE full-length Old Time Radio programs (in MP3 format) especially chosen for homeschool listeners PLUS exclusive “Listening & Discussion Guides” for each program, designed to make these classic programs an even more valuable educational addition to your homeschool curriculum!

  1. I’m having trouble getting it on my kindle. Amazon says it was delivered and automatically sent but my kindle doesn’t show it. Will leave comment as soon as I can review it. Thanks!

  2. I downloaded the book and left a review under ‘Jen’, titled ‘Quick and Easy’. I can’t wait to get started on The Mysterious Pirate Pit! My girls are going to love it!

  3. I LOVE this book!!

I already left my review, but wanted to post a comment here… WHY are people giving it glowing reviews but then giving it 1, 2, or 3 stars?! People need to pay attention to how many stars are highlighted when they leave their reviews & edit them if they feel the review does not match the amount of stars they left. One person basically said how great it was & then left 1 star?! Others have left 2 & 3 stars…

  4. Marcia, feel free to download Amazon’s app to read kindle ebooks on your computer. It works great on practically any system.

We are only releasing this for kindle at this time. Amazon requires a 90 day exclusive when using its advanced features (like giving it away free). Thanks for your patience.

  5. I downloaded it but the radio shows are not showing up on my Kindle Fire. It says I have to go back to the website to download the MP3′s. Did I miss something?

  6. Amazon says its currently unavailable ?
“This book is currently unavailable because there is an issue with its description, content, or formatting.”

  7. Sam, a formatting issue popped up, and Amazon has it on hold temporarily. Try again this afternoon. Sorry!

  8. Do some magic! Make Amazon fix it…. I have been wanting to try these radio shows, but don’t know quite how to incorporate them. This special, with the study guides, is just what we need. Thanks for all you’re wonderful help.

  9. Don’t you hate it when people (especially homeschooling teachers) use “you’re” for “your”?

  10. Kerrie, it was a tiny glitch in the formatting that makes the text hard to see if you try to use a black background on a Kindle Fire. Who knew?

We’ve posted a revised version and it should be back up sometime overnight or in the morning. Maybe. We’ll see.

  11. I don’t know whether it is because I am in the UK or not but for some reason Amazon.com doesn’t give me the option to buy any kindle books :-(

  12. Keeli, I’m in the UK too and you have to purchase it from amazon.co.uk. Search for ‘homeschool radio shows’ and you’ll find it. :)
