A Little Cook Book For A Little Girl (PDF ebook) – “Once upon a time there was a little girl named Margaret, and she wanted to cook, so she went into the kitchen and tried and tried, but she could not understand the cook-books, and she made dreadful messes, and spoiled her frocks and burned her fingers till she just had to cry…” So begins this delightful storybook/cookbook from 1905, which provides simple instructions for cooking several different dishes for breakfast, lunch and supper. While you may not want to try all these dishes (“creamed cod” comes to mind), there are still many interesting old-timey recipes in here worthy of a taste test. I definitely want to try “Steak and Bananas”. If you find something especially yummy in here, do let us know!

Love your freebies. I especially like today’s Kid’s Cookbook. I enjoy cooking and like to share that with my children.
I really like that each recipe is on it’s own page. This is great for making the kids their own cookbooks. However, the pages aren’t lined up – the recipe title prints on one page with the recipe on the next page.

Unfortunately, we acquired the rights to that ebook with that formatting problem already in place. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we felt the content was still worth the ugly formatting. Lots of fun recipes in there!
