The Mary Frances First Aid Book (PDF ebook) – Today we have another classic volume in the Jane Eayre Fryer’s beloved Mary Frances series – one even many “Mary Frances fans” have never seen! In this book, Mary Frances learns about First Aid from the adventures of her doll family, who go through all sorts of accidents and illnesses… and along the way discovers some practical ways to render first aid to the sick and injured herself.
While much of this first aid advice is sorely dated and not recommended today, it IS a quite fascinating glimpse into great great grandma’s medicine cabinet, how medicine was practiced 100 years ago, and a good lesson in how not to complain when bad things happen to you (ha). Plus the stories, as always are delightfully written and beautifully illustrated in this combination story/lesson book!

Thank you for ferreting these out! When the entire series was republished in hardbound copies by Lacis in the 1990s, I bought all the books for my daughter. She loved them! Now that she’s older, it’s nice to have the PDF copies to use with her little brother, who is 100% boy and tends to leave dirty fingerprints on everything in sight. The stories of Sewing Bird, Click and Clack the knitting needles, and the housekeeping dolls have become part of our family vocabulary and I’m looking forward to introducing them to another member of the family. Thanks again!
Thank you so much! We LOVE Mary Frances and did not have this title!!
I couldn’t download the pdf “First Aid Book”. When I clicked on the links. It opened a blank page. I tried both links. I forgot to check back yesterday afternoon, so I’m sorry I missed getting it.
Well, I tried it again and it worked! Sorry, it must be me! Thanks for your great resources!
