May 18: Sequential Spelling Vol. 1

on May 18, 2010

Sequential Spelling Vol. 1 (QuickTime Movie Files) – Today's featured resource is a download of three complete weeks of AVKO’s Sequential Spelling video program for the computer. All you need to use this computer program is the latest version of QuickTime. If you are not familiar with this spelling method it is a welcome relief from traditional spelling methods.  This multi-sensory method is very effective for all types of learners.  The sequences are based on building from easy words to advanced words as from all, tall, stall, install, installment, installation. Most students should start with Level 1.   Students of all ages build confidence as they spell words they have never seen before without studying.

Actually when you go to the site it's a three week trial of volume one.

Brooke, that is correct… and is what we stated in today's post.

I've been using AVKO's "If it is to be, it is up to me to do it" spelling course with my teenage son. It's a different version of the Sequential Spelling program. It has made a HUGE difference in my son's spelling (and in his attitude about it). I'd highly recommend this program.

  4. Carrie says:

LOVE this spelling program.  It is the first one that has helped my son to be able to spell correctly!

This could be what we need. I have been looking for what Spelling we should use for some time. I have more spelling programs than anythimg else in our house. All work for some, just not teaching us. I may use the book form but I would not have fund that without your help. This computer des not have a DVD drive, glad the demo plays on iTunes. Still I can make the book wok for us. Thank you. This school year we used the "My First Spelling" made for the Philipiano children in the early 1900's. Thank you.
