Thank you so much! I love Treasure Island and I am so excited to do some of your fun activities with my kids. I think it will be a total hit since my DS *loves* pirates!

    Thanks again!

I have to admit I had an inordinate amount of fun teaching this unit. People asked me if I was out of my mind for agreeing to teach a co-op class of 8 boys aged 6-9. I found the pirate worldview adapted well to this teaching situation. I threatened to make them walk the plank, assigned them deck-swabbing responsibilities, and paid good hard fake plastic gold for all duties accomplished. Hehehe.

Thank you to the Freebie of the Day site for spreading the word. :)

    Lydia,
Wow! This a great unit! I was also waiting all for this one, and it was certainly worth the wait! You are gifted creatively and it shows! It was well done and visually appealing, too. I liked the section on tying nautical knots… I probably wouldn’t have thought of that if I was trying to create my own unit study. SUPER JOB! THANK YOU!!!

  8. My son and I just went to Barnes and Noble yesterday and bought Treasure Island. How timely that you should make this available. Thank you. I know this will make his experience with this book and author much more enjoyable.

  9. Tracey Geertsma says:

I wanted to download this study guide so badly as we are studying this book in October, but I kept getting errors for some reason. Every time I tried it said that the file was damaged and Acrobat wouldn’t open it.

  10. Denese says:

Thank you Lydia for sharing this unit study. My children both enjoy “Treasure Island” and now we have some fun activities to go along with it!
