…when we get back from our “Summer Break”?
While we aren’t posting much here on the site in June, we are still busy behind the scenes (between all the picnics, fish fries, yard work & garden tour expeditions) sending out our weekly email subscriber freebies, putting the finishing touches on a couple of new collections, and putting together an awesome line up of freebies for you over the next few months!
Still, there are several spots yet to be filled, and we’d love to get YOUR input on what to feature here on our site later this Summer and into the Fall. So what kind of homeschool resources are you especially wanting to see featured on our site? What is most useful and helpful to you? What do you want to see more of? What do you want to see less of? Post a comment and let us know!

Thank you so much for the wonderful work that you do to provide so much fun resources for the homeschooling community!
We hope that you enjoy your break!
I would love to see some music history type things posted.
Thank you again!
we love the audio stories…..it’s sooooooo nice to take a break and “let him listen” while i do the dishes!! you are helping through these tough “before they can read alone” years of homeschooling with my 4th!! thank you!!
I would like to see resources for
Science – including experiments, lapbooking and notebooking helps, and lesson plans. I would also like to see the subjects vary and include biology, physics, chemistry, and general topics like astronomy, energy including alternative energy, systems including ecological, biological, meteorological, etc.
History – including Ancient, Middle Ages, Renaissance, American, and Modern History. I would like more resources for current events, timelines, historical figures, lapbooking and notebooking, copywork, writing starters, journal ideas, etc.
Planning and Organization – more resources for everything from planning a meal including recipes, cookbooks and pre-made meal plans, to lesson planners, home organization notebooks and binders, homeschool record keepers, etc. Tips for organizing everything, ideas for homeschooling while nursing, with a toddler, etc.
Free downloadable ebooks on every imaginable subject including art, crafts, homesteading and homemaking, “lost arts” like bread-making, yogurt-making, canning and food preservation, making jerky, etc., foreign languages including Spanish, French, and Italian, root languages (Latin and Greek), and anything else you can some up with.
I love all the resources I’ve collected this year. I’ve found so many exciting things, great articles, and helpful tips with you that my year has been easier. Please keep up the terrific job you’ve been doing!
Thanks,
Karen
i love the audios, but they are often a repeat of what i already got on the radioshows site. i prefer homemaking lessons i can do with my 11 yr. old girl–she loves the cooking and sewing and gardening type things. Some things on food storage, preparation for emergencies, or food preservation are always useful. Keep up the great work!!
First of all thanks for all the great stuff you put online for us, Jim and team! We really appreciate it! And thanks for asking us what we would like to see more of! Now THAT’S A HEART OF SERVICE!!! I hope you’re enjoying a great summer break!
I would like to see more resources on entrepreneurship, please. Also, more information on service projects for kids and how to get them involved in more community projects.
I’d love to see resources about what homeschooling parents find to be the strengths and challenges of homeschooling using various approaches like Charlotte Mason, Classical, unit Studies, etc.
Also, what would homeschooling parents do differently if they had it to do all over again.
Plus, downloadable e-books on history, science, and literature are always welcome in our home
as well as biographies of great men and women who make a contribution or who have made a contribution to our world!
Thanks so much!
You guys are GREAT – a huge encouragement!
I believe that more info on skills and crafts which we have lost / are losing incl crochet and knitting, hand sewing, bread baking, preserving, knot tying, etc would be great.
Also years ago a caught glimpse of a book using skills such as archery and chess to teach boys the skills of being Godly men. there was a similar one for girls / home makers. I tried to track it down and was unable to import it at the time. No idea of the name but it was from USA.
Thanks again for ALL you source for us with so much grace
Blessings
Vanessa
I would love resources on arts and crafts Ideas. Both my children love them but it seem I run out of ideas for different things way before the school year is over.
I’d also love more ideas on incorporating life skills that aren’t always in the textbooks. For example, Time management, Finance, Borrowing-Lending, Saving-Investing, basic home repairs, basic car care, etc. for children to understand. While some things in life are “picked-up” through ossmosis by some children as they grow, others seem to need more formal instruction to understand their importance.
Another area which I know has been mentioned is ideas on how to get children more involved in community service activites…. especially for those of us who do not live in or close to major cities. We live in very country setting and have limited community outreaches to volunteer at.
Any resources about organization are always welcome. We’re always looking for ways to improve our lifestyle with being organized.
Thanks for the opportunity to offer suggestions.
Hope you have a wonderful Summer Break!
I really appreciate the materials you post. I would love to see more info on two areas. The first is dollar stretching
and the second is homeschooling kids with special needs-especially kids who are non-verbal or limited verbal skills.
Thanks for all the freebies. I enjoy leaning from them too!
I’d like to have another old radio serial that runs daily from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve (like “Cinnamon Bear” or “Christmas on the Moon”).
First of all thank you for keeping our homeschool low cost. What would I like to see more of? history, geography, and a few things for preschool ages.
As I do have a slow net connection not too many videos as we cannot access them.
I enjoy saving for future grandchildren so any freebies will be useful. Thank you for supplying these resources.
I, too, love the old books. Seed Babies, Grammar Land…anything along those lines. But what would be really helpful, is one of those tools that help us print them out in little booklets. I have an inexpensive printer now that does not have the multiple page to one sheet option…surely there is a freebie out there somewhere that would help us print booklets to create our own little books, eh?
I am thoroughly enjoying the variety of resources that I have been able to download. Thanks for doing this!
I would love to see more on the Constitution and Bill of Rights and things related to the history of the founding of our republic. I so love all that you do in providing these resources for us. Thanks for the time and work.
I love all the information and goodies you have shared – THANKS!!!
As for something new – maybe something about the history of holidays, how they become holidays and any applicable audios.
We also love learning about inventions.
Thanks again for all your hard work!!!!
I was told about this site by reading someone’s blog. I’ve been a few times, but have not been able to find the “freebie”. I’ve seen previous ones that are no longer active, but not new ones. It sounds like it would be great though. Anyone got any answers for me?
First, thanks for all the resources you send us! I enjoy many of them!
I would love to see you do some of the “Every Child Should Know” series. You do a great job of taking HTML formats and making them into PDF’s, something I don’t have the time to do.
And anything with American History is welcomed, too, since we will be studying it this fall.
Thanks again for all your hard work!
My children really love listening to the old radio programs. I incorporate them into their sit-down time and they learn while being entertained.
I am new to homeschooling and would love to have some “how-to’s” of homeschooling. Maybe some information on homeschooling a child with minor difficulties (inattentive). Thanks!
I’d love to see more about incorporating housework into homeschooling and also something about sewing for little kids. Oh – and field trip ideas that are off-the-beaten-path, not mainstream (go to the museum) type stuff.
I’d like to see the bottom of my floors while homeschooling this next year!! LOL After reading a few other comments, I agree with many of them. This was our first year using your radio programs, and we have really enjoyed them! It gives me a little break in my afternoon too! Thanks for coming along side of us as we balance homeschooling and family life.
Thanks for all the freebies!—way cool.
We would really like to see anything for high/middle school-esp. history and literature. Enjoy your June!
I would LOVE to see more science projects and Bible Studies for children 4th-8th grades. I would also love something on helping to stay focused and keeping up with everything (family, home, homeschool.)
I do want to say thank you sooo much for blessing us with so many things already and for taking the time and effort to organize and keep this site up. Blessings to you and your family!
More audio and more easy craft projects. I’d especially like to see history resources from ancient to the reformation.
I would like to see somethings for the older students. We have been studying Stalin, Hitler Socilism and fasism. It is heart stopping. The contrast with what is happening in our great country is alarming. I know are heavy subjects, but one my 13, 16 and 19 year olds have had many conversations about even when we are not in class and they see something on the news.
Jut my two cents,
Theresa
Thanks so much for all your hard work and long hours, believe me it is greatly appreciated!
As for something new, some computer organization skills would be helpful for us not so savy computer users! I have all of your resources backed up onto my computer in a file that says Homeschool downloads. Some of them I use right away but the majority I don’t have time or maybe they are not age appropriate right now, so I just save them for a rainy day. I could really use some ideas on how to organize them ( and other items in my computer) so they are more accessible in the future. Thank you and God Bless!
I have been downloading your freebies and haven’t ever said thank you for all you provide. I and my children enjoy the resources. I’d really like to see more for younger children PreSchool through 4th grade, as that is the ages I am teaching. Science is one of our lacking areas as well as geography. Thank you and God bless,
Sarah

We love everything we’ve gotten from your site!! My oldest especially loves the audio books and listens to them over and over again. My kids also like anything hands-on we get from you. Thanks for all you do!!
We love the old e books!!! They are such a wonderful addition to our curriculum. The biblical studies are such a blessing to our family as well.
Thank you for all that you do! May God be glorified!
Thank you for all your hard work on this site! I would love to see more character building offers and McGuffey style readers. (I LOVE old books!)
Our favorites have been Ned and Goops! Both were fantastic! Also, the Pilgrim Stories were wonderful, and Old Fashioned Thanksgiving. I prefer regular books (especially living books). Thanks!
I would love to see more resources about getting children involved in house work/garden work while doing school at the same time.
I’d love to see some notebooking pages, geography resources and practical life/handicraft skills
I do love the things which are relevant to the season too
Thanks for all you do!
First of all, THANK YOU!!!!!! I’m not homeschooling yet, but will be in the near future. I’ve been saving all the freebies so far for future reference.
I would like to see activites/etc for itty-bitties (0-5yrs). I have an almost 2 year old that I would like to start working with, but really don’t know where to start.
Thanks for all your help and work with this site. It has been instrumental in helping me to get more comfortable on the teaching end of homeschooling (rather than the learning end, I was homeschooled for a few years). I hpe you enjoy our break. You really deserve it!
I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with for freebies. I am going to go subscribe now after hearing how much people have enjoyed your daily freebies. Thanks!
Have a great break!
I am always looking for ways to teach grammar and spelling.
Thanks for all you do. We really enjoy your daily freebies.
Hey do I get a look in?
Only kidding.
In these times of restraint many of our young ones are growing up fast. More than ever they need to help around the home and learn frugal skills as never before.
So lets have some guidence on resourcefulness and self help; I’m sure we could all do with a little of that.
Thsnk you do for the hard work that goes into all the freebies. I would love to see more goodies for teenagers. Science and life skills, please.
I hope you are having a great vacation!
My children have really enjoyed the cooking resources. Since I have 5 boys I’d love to see something aimed at boys if you have it. We adapt the “girl” resources but I think it would encourage my boys if there was something aimed at young men.
We love lapbooks!!!
Hmmm…that’s a tough question since you already have such a great variety of offerings! The only things I can think of is perhaps more Bible studies and more offerings geared toward the high school age (of any variety whether it be for education or just for fun or reading pleasure).
Oh, and most importantly, I would like to see God bless you exceedingly, abundantly above all you can imagine for your labors in giving our family daily blessings!
I only recently found your great website, just before you went on break, but I can see that you offer a wonderful service to subscribers, and I look forward to your return!
Thank you.
All has been said, I just enjoy coming everyday to see what surprise you have for us that day (sometimes I can use them sometimes not) but they are always interesting and I thank you for all your work in putting this site and it’s resources together.
Love it!
Thanks again
Thank for all the free stuff. I love to see what kinds of things we can get for FREE! Thank You.
Heather
I absolutely love your website! It’s the first one I reccomend to new homeschooling friends. Thank you so much for all you invest into us as a homeschooling family/community. We are continually blessed by you throughout the year.
Much of what I would love to see has been mentioned, but wanted to throw one more vote in for organizational content. Homeschooling and household, but especially for homeschool records, grades, etc..
Thank you and your family for all you do!
I love your site. I have a special needs child and we tend to spend alot of time in the car between OT and our regular field trips or his sports activities. We love audio: histories, science, critical thinking, things we can listen to in the the car.
Hands on activites are also good too.
I am afraid all the christian stuff is lost on us as we belong to one of the worlds other religions. We homeschool for health related reasons.
Thank you for all your work.
I have relly enjoyed you free web site. Being a homeschool mom I always love free things.
I would like to see more about lapbooking or notebooking. THANK you very much for the heads up about the UHSE I really really enjoyed that site. So it would be nice to have more information about expos like those.
Can’t wait until you get back with all those new freebies.
Thanks and God Bless
Thanks for all your hard work!
My children are age 6 and 7 so I like the downloads aimed at the younger grades.
I am in Australia and it is hard to find Australian history and politics for homeschoolers. I would love to see world history.
Hi there,
I think I have every resource since you started last year! My children are still young so I am keeping most of the resources for when they grow up a little. I have printed out the Seed Babies though, I am going to do the same for the Bee People. Thank you for your great work! I am a member of the radio shows and I have bought your christmas cd too! Keep up the great work! Thank you soooo much!
I mostly appreciate the mini and larger unit study materials, even the study guides are useful for the weekly posts. Thanks so much!
