The Gutenberg Project

The Gutenberg Project

The absolute motherlode of public domain books. Every homeschool family needs to bookmark this site and utilize it often.

“This site is fantastic to download books. The only glitch is that all the books that are on the site are so old that the copyright has expired but that doesn’t mean that it’s a bad site either. Just about any classic book you can name is available for download! I’ve already read Alice in Wonderland, A Christmas Carol, and Tom Sawyer to our son. I’ve reread Little Women, Little Men, Jo’s Boys, and several others myself. Then I’ve been using McGuffey Readers to teach our son reading and several books to teach him about famous composers. I would guess the reason I like the gutenberg site so much is that my husband and I are avid readers. With that site, I’m never out of reading materials and I can download it to my Kindle too!” – Submitted by Edwina Moody
