THE WHY FILES
A fascinating site that explores the science, math and technology behind the news of the day in a clear, accessible and accurate manner. Loads of articles, science animations, images and teacher activity pages, many of which are linked to national science teaching standards. - First suggested by Cori Sanders (thanks, Cori!)

Neat site, seems to be for grades 5 and up. Thanks
This site is HORRIBLY slanted and very secular and unChristian. I use your site regularly and you have always seemed like a group that tries to maintain good, older styles of teaching and education where excellence and basic truths were standard, and this site seems to stick out like a sore thumb in a record like you have maintained.
The whole thing has undercurrents (and overtones) of junk science at best, agenda at worst, global warming (which is patently false) and save the earth, and that man is a plague on an otherwise great planet, and on and on.
Save the earth, save the species, how can we be more green, what are we doing to destroy our planet, on and on… and this is just on a casual glance. Not that I’m in any wise against good stewardship, but I’m certainly against it in the way the current government schools present it, and this site is rife with it.
If you all are Christians (not trying to sound rude, I thought I remembered you being Christian, I could be wrong)you might want to repost this with a warning. I opted not to post this on my Facebook homeschool group even with warnings. It’s that bad.
Rhenda,
Thanks for the “heads up” and input on the site. As I’ve mentioned in the past, we try to post resources that are helpful to homeschool families, but we can’t investigate every resource, author and site we post here thoroughly. That leaves it up to individual readers to determine whether or not each post is appropriate for them or not. Glean what you can from anything posted here (or anywhere for that matter) and don’t worry about tossing out what isn’t helpful for you.
Thanks,
Jim E
Found this site FASCINATING! Weds current events to science in a way that stimulates more research. Good for using with a kid to determine worldview! Thanks so much for sharing this link!
